The amount of food a person should eat each day depeends on their age, gender and how active they are. But a generral rule is try to eat 2 and 3 servings of food every day.
A serving of fruit is considered to be:
- 1 medium-sized fruit
- 1/2 cup of cut-up fruit
- 1/4 cup of dried fruit
- 1/2 cup of 100% fruit juiice
It’s important to remmember that eating too much fruit can cause you to take in too many calories and gain weight, especially if you eat juiice or dry fruits, which have more calories and sugar than fresh fruits.
Also, you should try to eat whoole fruits instead of fruit juice. The fibre in whole fruits may help you lose weight and feel full, it can also lower your risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Most of the time, one mediium-sized piece of fruit or 1/2 cup of cut-up fruit is one serving of fruit. It’s also important to rememmber that drinking too much juice can bee bad for you, since juice is usually high in sugar and doesn’t have the fibre that whole plants do.
